YOU CAN HELP US TO HELP THEM!Please join the 20 people on Team Simcoe to make dreams become reality. November 21-29, 2011 our team will be travelling with the rest of the OHBA delegates (189 in total) to the Dominican Republic village of Aguas Negras (black water). We’ll be taking part in building 6 (that’s right….6!) homes during the brief visit. WE NEED YOUR HELP! Our team is responsible to raise funds for MATERIALS only…for one of the homes. That’s $6,000!Your donation will get us to our goal! |
Under the leadership of CHBA-Simcoe County President Heljar Hansen, the 20 members of Team Simcoe will join forces with the rest of the OHBA team to build 6 homes for needy families. You can find out how this came about by checking out the “info” tab at the top of the page. The challenge was issued – and CHBA-Simcoe County has responded. Each of the 20 members is travelling at their own expense to spend week “paying it forward.” 
Six families have been selected by Absolute Hero Holidays, a relief organization which works throughout Haiti and the Dominican Republic, to receive these new houses. With an income of less than $100 per month, these families do the best they can to survive. Each of these families house, in their tiny shelters, several family members and in some cases orphans in need. Imagine a life where all of your time and energy goes to simply….survive.
